Historic Achievements for ESCC Volleyball: National Recognition for Vigil and Freeman
Christina Vigil, our standout setter, has made history as the first ESCC volleyball player to be named First Team All-American. Christina’s sophomore season was nothing short of extraordinary. She was crowned ACCC Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference, and MVP of the Conference Tournament, while also earning the title of South Setter of the Year. Christina led the conference in assists (1,333), assists per set (10.10), and aces per set (0.65), showcasing her unmatched skill and leadership on the court. Nationally, she ranked 6th in total assists and 7th in assists per set, cementing her place as one of the best setters in the country.
Alivia Freeman, a dominant force on the court, has also made program history as the first ESCC player to earn Second Team All-American honors. Alivia’s exceptional performance this season earned her a spot on the All-Tournament Team at the conference tournament, as well as being named First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Region, and South Offensive Player of the Year. Alivia led the conference in blocks per set (0.94) and hitting percentage (.422) while finishing 2nd in total kills (439) and 3rd in kills per set (3.09). Her relentless energy and precision have set a new standard of excellence for the ESCC volleyball program.
