ESCC Starts Men's Soccer Team
A men's soccer team, to be led by Coach Cade Stinnett, will be added to the athletic offerings at Enterprise State Community College for the first time in its history.
Stinnett was announced as the soccer coach on Friday, January 19. He began coaching as a volunteer assistant coach at Jacksonville High School, where he would eventually become the head coach. Stinnett later began coaching for the EHS Boys JV Soccer Team. He joined the ESCC family as its part-time soccer club coach in May 2023.
My goal for the program for this first season is to bring light to Southeast Alabama and the surrounding area to the opportunity for young men to play soccer and further their education past high school, Stinnett said, stating he hopes to make a name for the college in the sport. I'm beyond excited to get this program up and running and see growth over the next few seasons.
Twenty-four soccer athletic scholarships are available. Stinnett said he plans to recruit as much as possible locally but described his recruiting regions as anywhere from Montgomery to thepanhandle of Florida.
There's a potential for women's soccer to be added later to the athletic options at the college.
